Wolverhampton Wanderers are ‘very close’ to signing Portimonense star Shoya Nakajima, according to claims from Portugal this Wednesday.

A Bola reports the clubs are in the ‘final stages’ of negotiation, and the player should be moving to the Premier League side on a deal worth around €20m. The outlet says the move can be done ‘at any time’.

As recalled by A Bola, Nakajima has been linked to the likes of Leicester City and Southampton lately, with the Foxes looking well positioned to sign the Japanese international at one time.

The player is currently protected by a €40m release clause and a contract until 2020 at Portimonense, so it looks like Wolves would be getting a good deal to sign him for half the price.

The talks are being reported on the newspaper’s website and couldn’t wait for a story in tomorrow’s paper edition, that’s because A Bola wanted it out ASAP.

With five goals and four assists this season, Nakajima is one of the players who’s been impressing most in Portugal, especially for not belonging to Porto, Benfica or Sporting.

Considering how confident A Bola sound, it would be no surprise if the next update posted is to confirm the deal.
