Even though Hector Herrera’s contract with Porto is expiring next summer, it seems it won’t be easy for Tottenham Hotspur to get him.

Spurs have been linked to the midfielder by the Italian media last week. The local press considers Mauricio Pochettino’s side to be competition for Roma, who are also keen on the player.

Now as Corriere Dello Sport claimed this weekend that the Giallorossi are ready to offer €15m for him in January, Portuguese newspapers have a response with Porto’s reaction to that.

Newspaper Record brings a big story saying it may not be enough, but Porto will certainly consider that offer. Although it’s not what they expected to sell such a player, it’s still better than losing him for free in the summer.

Newspaper Correio da Manhã comes up with a different opinion, saying the Dragons won’t let Herrera go for less than his €40m release clause. This one sounds pretty strange to be frank, because Porto don’t seem like a club who would rather see the player walk for free.

In any case, it looks like Tottenham won’t have an easy job to get Herrera. Some millions will definitely be needed to convince Porto, and waiting for the summer is a bit risky as there are strong clubs in the race.
