Serie A side Napoli have been struggling with injuries this season, and that’s a good reason for them to look for signings in the January transfer window.
The Italian press has claimed this week that one of the targets is Alex Grimaldo, the Benfica left-back who’s already been linked to the club in the past.
That was the story this week, until the Portuguese media went to cover it and ended up throwing Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur into the mix.
A Bola brings an article saying Grimaldo ‘is back on Napoli’s radar’, explaining that the player would be valued at €40m in the January market.
Then they add Napoli are not alone in the race for Grimaldo, since he’s also followed by Arsenal and Tottenham.
The Gunners and Spurs have in fact been linked to the left-back in the past, but we haven’t seen any recent news about their interest, even though they scouted Benfica last week.
