A Bola appear to be coming up with the best takes on Ruben Amorim’s current situation, with Liverpool interest now turning into him being on the verge of a move to West Ham.
Earlier, we covered an article from the Portuguese newspaper which explained the Sporting boss arrived back in Lisbon at about 1am today after negotiations to become West Ham’s manager.
Liverpool also got a mention, and it was stated they’d been informed about the trip in advance and that a meeting could still be held with the Reds as they look to replace Jurgen Klopp.
The eagerness to travel for West Ham talks has been explained by several factors. In a separate article, A Bola state: ‘the numbers in the proposal that were presented to Ruben Amorim are considerably higher than those that Liverpool put on the table.’
However, it very much isn’t just about money. The Hammers are said to be offering ‘the freedom to design a squad to his liking, according to his ideas’.
A Bola insist that was one of Amorim’s conditions, and the insinuation is that Liverpool weren’t as prepared to offer that power as West Ham are.
Amorim arrived at Sporting in 2020 and since then he’s developed multiple players who were sold for a higher price later. The list includes the likes of Pedro Porro, Manuel Ugarte, Matheus Nunes, Nuno Mendes and Joao Palhinha.
From the current Sporting squad, he’s helped Gyokeres, Marcus Edwards, Gonzalo Inacio, Pedro Goncalves and Ousmane Diomande improve their valuations.
