Portuguese attacker Diogo Jota is set to join Wolves, according to his home country outlet Diário de Notícias.

Earlier there had been rumours of Jota to Wolves from England but nothing to back it up in either Portugal or Spain.

It’s claimed the player will be signing a one year contract on loan from Atletico Madrid, where manager Diego Simeone doesn’t count on him.

Jota is already set to fly to England on Friday so he can have his medical and sign the deal, according to DN.

The player spent last season on loan at FC Porto, where he was much praised during the spell. He scored nine goals and added seven assists in 38 appearances, sometimes starting and even leaving Milan’s €38m signing André Silva on the bench.

Jota is the fourth Portuguese player to be joining manager Nuno Espírito Santo at Wolves this summer. Ruben Vinagre, Roderick Miranda and Ruben Neves have all signed before him.

The partnership between Wolves and super agent Jorge Mendes is certainly having an impact.
