Elias Sørensen is set to leave Portsmouth for Vålerenga Fotball in the winter market.
That’s according to Tipsbladet, who state Portsmouth have agreed a deal with the Norwegian club for the striker’s permanent transfer.
It’s claimed John Mousinho’s side invested €300,000 to buy the 25-year-old from Esbjerg fB in the summer.
The Championship side decided to sign the Dane to fill the void created by Colby Bishop, who had undergone surgery in July 2024. He was expected to be out of action for the long term, but the 28-year-old Portsmouth star returned to action in November.
Bishop has managed three goals and two assists from 10 games while Sørensen’s game time has been limited since then. Therefore, Portsmouth have decided to sell the latter and have agreed a deal with Vålerenga for €300,000.
Prior to joining the lower division English club, he made two appearances for Esbjerg, managing a goal and four assists in the process.
The Norwegian league’s new season starts in March and therefore, Sørensen is eligible to play for Vålerenga despite playing for both Esbjerg and Portsmouth since the summer.
