Just a few days before all these Moussa Marega stories came out, West Ham United were actually said to be after Porto winger Yacine Brahimi.
The Algerian international was reportedly the Hammers’ main target when David Sullivan Jr visited Porto’s headquarters last week.
But rumours from Portugal claimed that both the Dragons and Brahimi didn’t want the move. That’s why he continued to train normally, unlike his teammate Marega, who’s been forcing his way out of the club.
On Saturday, Porto played the Super Cup game against Aves. The Dragons won with a 1-0 score, with Brahimi on the pitch, and Marega watching it from home.
Brahimi had a word with the local press after the game, and has largely ruled out an exit from the club this summer.
“Exit? Now I’m enjoying FC Porto and nothing more,” Brahimi told the reporters (via O Jogo).
The player was also asked about Marega, and said: “This is not to be talked about”.
Despite being withdrawn from the squad, Marega supported the team with Instagram posts during the game.
