Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg brings more updates on Arsenal’s chase for Chelsea forward Kai Havertz.
On Twitter, the reporter claims the ‘poker has started’ to bring the player from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates Stadium.
It’s said there are ‘concrete talks’ on going for Arsenal to sign the 24-year-old, but that doesn’t mean a deal will be done soon.
Besides claiming there are ‘no agreements’ for the Chelsea player, Plettenberg states that it’s a ‘step by step deal’, and a ‘fast decision is not expected’.
What seems to play on Arsenal’s side is that Havertz is ‘very open’ to joining the Gunners this summer, as he ‘sees the top development’ that Mikel Arteta’s side has.
On Thursday morning, Plettenberg had already claimed that the talks for the transfer were ‘proceeding well’, with the player having a valuation of £60m.
It was even claimed that his switch to Arsenal was ‘more realistic’ than to Real Madrid, despite strong rumours about his departure to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Havertz is currently on international duty, so it doesn’t seem like there’ll be big developments in the coming days.
