Paul Pogba to Real Madrid promises to be this summer’s running transfer saga and the move that could start the transfer merry go round proper.
Pogba has openly flirted with a move to the Bernabeu, and they have reciprocated. Zinedine Zidane has also made it clear that the midfielder is a player he’d like to work with.
So far there has been little progress or updates on the potential move, besides speculation on either side. Marca provide an update on the situation from the Real Madrid side of things.
They say Madrid are surveying potential midfield additions, but they know that Pogba is the priority for Zidane. Indeed, according to them, the manager has made it clear he expects the club’s efforts to be solely focused on securing the Manchester United star.
However, they are yet to find the necessary ‘loophole’ or ‘gap’ in which to start negotiations with Manchester United. The know Pogba will be difficult to sign and that it will take a ‘huge outlay’ to get him out of Old Trafford.
The only problem for the deal is the negotiation between the clubs, though. Pogba wants the move and to work under Zidane, and Real’s boss wants to work with the player, so there is no issue there.
Madrid are willing to ‘fight’ to get the deal done and give their boss a signing he considers as a necessity for his rebuild of the club.
Those assurances have seemingly been passed on to Zidane, who the newspaper report is confident the move will be concluded at some point, despite the fact Madrid are considering alternatives.
