When the Portuguese press has a story about Ricardo Pereira, they always say there are two clubs interested in signing him: Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus.

It’s known that Spurs have been watching the player in the start of the Portuguese league, and the Italian papers have been claiming Juventus’ interest for a while.

But Tuttosport has an article about Juve’s chase for a right-back today, and there’s some interesting information regarding Tottenham.

They claim that Juve now have a clear path to get Pereira, since Mauricio Pochettino’s side have swtiched targets to PSG’s Serge Aurier.

Tuttosport either know something new or they’ve just been following the latest rumours on Aurier, but they make it clear that Juve are no longer afraid of Tottenham providing competition for Pereira.

The Italian newspaper just seems to be left behind when they claim that Pereira’s release clause is €25m, as O Jogo revealed today that it’s actually €37.5m.

Aurier has been continually linked to Tottenham in the French media, after being continually linked to Manchester United and Chelsea.

The player’s agents seem to have been working overtime. Not only trying to sort out his appeal against a custodial sentence for violence against police, which would prevent a UK work permit, but also encouraging interest, or at least the idea of it.

Aurier doesn’t really seem to be the kind of profile Mauricio Pochettino usually goes for, but the French, and now Italian , press continue insisting there’s something in it.
