Brentford star Sergi Canós has admitted he ‘would like’ to see London rivals Arsenal win the Premier League this season.
Arsenal currently sit top of the Premier League after 11 games of the season after a superb start to the campaign that has seen them win nine of their games and lost just once.
There have been a number of impressive performances in those games too, including a 3-2 win over Liverpool and a 3-1 win over Tottenham.
The Gunners are looking likely to have a strong campaign, with Mikel Arteta finally enjoying a squad that is suited to the style he wants to play and flourishing under his leadership.
While there is a long way to go in the title race yet, and Manchester City remain the favourites in the eyes of many, there is a belief that Arsenal could go far this season if they can maintain the form they’ve shown after the World Cup.
Brentford midfielder Canós is surprisingly one of those hoping that will be the case, admitting he would love to see Brentford’s rivals lifting the trophy.
“I see them doing very well,” he told Marca.
“I like the way they work as a team, it’s a pleasure to watch them play. Although they haven’t yet had that dip in performance that all teams tend to have.
“When that happens, they will have to show how strong they are as a group. I would like them to win the Premiership.”
