Following UOL’s report saying midfielder Danilo is close to leaving Palmeiras for Nottingham Forest, we now get to see a few more comments from the outlet on that subject.
On UOL news, journalist Danilo Lavieri commented on a couple of factors which show the City Ground side stand in a good position for negotiations.
It’s claimed that Palmeiras are in need of money, which means they will no longer work that hard to keep the player, and also that the midfielder’s age means this is the right time for the club to accept the sale.
“Danilo is really on track with Nottingham Forest, which is Scarpa’s team. I think it’s an important loss for Palmeiras, but we have to remember some points, Palmeiras need money and Danilo will turn 22 in April. For the market it’s already an advanced age, the market likes players of 18, 19, 20 years old at most,” said Danilo Lavieri on UOL News, also mentioning some players for whom Palmeiras missed the right timing for a sale.
“Palmeiras recently bet on retaining their youngsters and it didn’t work out, Veron for example even had a proposal of €15m, €16m and ended up leaving for €10m, almost through the back door of Palmeiras, to Porto, after the episode of the night out. Wesley had a proposal of €8m and ended up negotiated now at a low price for €3m to Cruzeiro. There was Patrick de Paula, Renan, Gabriel Menino himself already had proposals at a time when he was in better shape and Palmeiras did not negotiate.”
It’s worth pointing out, however, that not all the Brazilian media has that information about Nottingham Forest and Palmeiras being in advanced talks for the transfer.
Earlier on Wednesday, it was reported by journalist Jorge Nicola that the Reds’ offer is for a loan with an obligation to buy after the player makes three appearances. That’s not expected to be accepted by Palmeiras, who want the guarantee of a sale.
