Chelsea fans have had a dream of a transfer summer. If there’s such thing as a Transfer Trophy, then supporters of the club have been parading it around social media.

Frank Lampard isn’t done just yet though, and now attention has turned to bringing in a goalkeeper. The Kepa Arrizabalaga era hasn’t been a great success, and it’s been clear for a while that Lampard isn’t convinced.

Lack of confidence around the goalkeeping position can spread into defence, so if Chelsea want a solid season they’ll need to address the issue, and it looks like they’re moving on from the Spaniard.

With Édouard Mendy links around for over a week, Rennes are now looking for a replacement to allow Chelsea to take the stopper.

Ouest France report that man looks to be Granada’s Rui Silva.

Given Rennes are working on signing Silva, Mendy’s move to Chelsea is said to be clearer. The Blues are ‘ready to make an offer’ for the 28 year old, and it’s thought it’ll be in the region of €25m.

The impression the French media is giving suggests Rennes would quite like such an amount.
