On Monday, we covered claims from France that Leny Yoro and his entourage are touched by Manchester United’s insistence to sign him. It was also said the Lille star would make a decision between the Red Devils and Real Madrid in the coming days.
Later that day, RMC Sport said Manchester United are pressing hard to sign the 18-year-old, while Paris Saint-Germain are out of the race.
L’Equipe now claim the centre-back is in a dilemma as Manchester United and the La Liga winners are keen on securing his services.
According to L’Equipe, Manchester United have offered €63m plus bonuses and this meets Lille’s requirements. It’s to be noted that earlier claims have stated their proposal was over €40m plus bonuses.
It doesn’t make a great deal of sense for them to offer so much more than Real Madrid are prepared to.
The 18-year-old isn’t favouring Erik ten Hag’s side, and wants to move to Los Blancos. His agent, Jorge Mendes, wants to take him to the Champions League winners, who haven’t yet found an agreement with the Ligue 1 side.
Yoro has played 60 games for Lille and his deal expires in 2025. Real Madrid, who have no urgency to strengthen the centre-back position, have taken these factors into account, and offered €20m. This clearly doesn’t please the French club.
The Paris club remain in the background, even though RMC stated yesterday that they are out of the race. L’Equipe claim PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is aware that Real Madrid won’t do anything crazy to sign the defender.
Real Madrid’s stance has started to ‘worry’ Yoro because he has informed Lille of his desire to leave this summer and they are no longer counting on him. This favours Manchester United, who continue to ‘insist’ on signing him.
At this moment in time, the Frenchman is unsure of where he will play next season. If the Red Devils were to convince him and his agent, they could wrap up this deal quickly.
