In the list of players yet to make an impact at their new clubs this summer, Ademola Lookman ranks highly.
The forward swapped Everton for RB Leipzig, with the German side paying £16m to secure the England youngster after he impressed with them during a loan spell in 2018.
Lookman was keen to leave Goodison Park in search of regular first-team football, which he failed to get under Marco Silva last season.
He’s yet to get it at Leipzig, though, having managed just 11 minutes of football so far this season, something manager Julien Nagelsmann suggests is Everton’s fault.
The 21-year-old is unlikely to be happy with the situation at his new club, particularly given he left England after failing to break into Everton’s first team.
BILD report on his situation today and say the reason the winger is missing out is because of ‘strong’ competition in RB Leipzig’s squad.
They then cover whether they think that there is a chance Lookman will complain about his situation, stating there is a 10% chance of an ‘explosion’ as far as they are concerned. Nagelsmann has ‘barely’ made use of his six new signings, and it’s thought Lookman’s case is the ‘most explosive’, partly because of the effort put into signing him.
RB Leipzig spent a long time convincing the youngster, and if what was promised doesn’t happen then there’s the possibility of regret.
