According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray are not interested in signing Fenerbahce defender Bright Osayi-Samuel in the summer.
The Nigeria international has been heavily linked with a move to Crystal Palace in recent months as the former Queens Park Rangers right back eyes a return to the UK.
Haber Sarikirmizi have covered comments made by Çağatay Çelik when asked about the situation with the Fenerbahce defender. The Turkish journalist said the 27-year-old was offered to Galatasaray via intermediaries, but the Super Lig leaders have other targets in mind for the right back position.
He went on to say Osayi-Samuel’s priority is a return to the UK following his time at Loftus Road.
“Bright Osayi-Samuel, whose contract with Fenerbahçe expires at the end of the season, was recommended to Galatasaray through agents. Galatasaray have stated that they are not interested in Osayi-Samuel. It is learnt that the Nigerian footballer has an annual wage demand of €2.7m per year. Osayi-Samuel’s priority is to return to the UK,” said the Turkish journalist.
Yesterday we covered reports from the Turkish press that Crystal Palace are closing in on Osayi-Samuel after being in transfer talks with the player. It was claimed Palace have offered the Nigerian a four-year contact and a salary of €4.5m a season.
It’s likely the €2.7m request was after tax.
Bright Osayi-Samuel has played 33 games under Jose Mourinho this season.
