On January 16th, El Periódico Mediterráneo reported Everton have shown the most interest in Villarreal’s Arnaut Danjuma.
It was also stated the La Liga side are looking to get rid of the forward in January and gave permission for him to travel to England to hold talks with his potential suitors.
Later that day, Danjuma’s agent confirmed the negotiations are ongoing but refused to give details of the clubs he’s been talking to.
Along with Everton, other clubs in England and across Europe are interested in the Netherlands international. Rennes fall into the latter category and Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna states the Ligue 1 side seem to be losing the battle to Frank Lampard’s side.

The journalist claims Danjuma’s agents have informed Rennes the Villarreal attacker wants to play in England. He further adds the Dutchman’s ‘preference goes to Everton’ and the negotiations are underway to try to reach an agreement.
It remains to be seen whether the Toffees can quickly agree a deal with both the player and the Yellow Submarine.
The ex-Bournemouth man has six goals from 17 matches in all competitions this season with Villarreal.
