İsmail Yüksek’s performances for Fenerbahçe have caught the attention of Brighton and Hove Albion.

That’s according to journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu via Sports Digitale, who reports that Brighton are keen on the 26-year-old.

The defensive midfielder has been a regular for the Turkish side this season, with 13 appearances in all competitions to date and 882 minutes in total. That’s seeming earned him attention from around Europe.

And Brighton are one of the sides who have taken notice according to Sabuncuoğlu. In fact, they are now busy gathering information on the defender.

“This performance has caught the attention of Brighton, a team in the English Premier League,” he said.

“Nothing has materialized yet. They’re gathering information. They’ve started scouting the player. There’s no offer yet, no club contact, nothing at a high level.”

It seems, then, Brighton are simply scouting the defender at this moment in time and nothing more. They’re not short of central midfielders at this moment in time anyway. They have three defensive midfielders and three central midfielders on their books.

A move in January for another would make little sense, then, unless it was perhaps to replace Jack Hinshelwood after he suffered a ligament injury.

Yüksek is a name to keep an eye on moving forwards then. It seems his performances in Türkiye are earning him attention and Brighton are one of the sides watching.
