Despite recent reports claiming Norwich City winger Milot Rashica could be on his way to Burnley this summer, we now get to see those claims denied in the Turkish media.
The 26-year-old is currently having a loan spell at Galatasaray, where he has six goals and six assists this season and looks quite comfortable.
So as Rashica’s representative in Turkey Aykut Erçetin was interviewed on Monday by Radyospor (via Ajansspor), he claimed that instead of Burnley, the Norwich player would actually want to stay at the Istanbul side.
“Milot Rashica is at Galatasaray and he’s very happy to be in Turkey. His heart is in favour of staying in Galatasaray,” said Ayjut Erçetin.
Regarding the recent rumours about the Burnley move, the agent claims those are not true.
“You know, as they say, when someone overflows a well, forty people can’t get it out. This claim is exactly that. Milot Rashica’s transfer process to Galatasaray took about two months. Everyone remembers Milot Rashica from Norwich City, but Werder Bremen’s performance was very good and they wanted him very much in Leipzig at that time.”
Rashica was signed by Norwich City in a €11m move from Werder Bremen in the summer of 2021. In his year with the Canaries, he only had two goals and three assists in 40 appearances, and that led the club to loan him out to Galatasaray.
The winger is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €7.5m, and it’s not yet clear whether Galatasaray will pay that amount. Maybe with promotion to the Premier League, Burnley could have convincing arguments to beat the Turkish side.
