Facundo Pellistri’s departure from Manchester United is now ‘in the final stretch’ with his ‘firm desire’ to depart facilitating a move to Granada.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who say the Uruguayan winger is close to joining the Spanish side on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season.
They report that the move back to Spain is in the final stretch, with negotiations coming to an end after talks over the last few days.
The operation seemed practically closed a week ago but became stuck, albeit still on going, and so held things up.
However, the player’s desire to join the Nasrid team and leave Manchester United ‘has been key’ for the talks to come to fruition.
He’s keen to make the switch and is an express request from Uruguayan coach Alexander Medina, who wants to have him as part of his squad.
The only thing missing on the deal is an agreement on the percentage of salary that each club will pay in the deal.
Pellistri sees the move as ideal and something of a lifeline as he wants to leave Manchester United and get regular playing time elsewhere, having barely featured under Erik ten Hag this season.
