On Thursday we brought claims from Spain that Pau Lopez to Tottenham Hotspur is all agreed, and apparently has been for several days.
Catalan newspaper Sport reported that, barring any last minute changes (and this is Spurs, so let’s not rule that out), Pau to Tottenham was all agreed.
The reason he wasn’t already in London was because Espanyol were finding a replacement back-up goalkeeper. They needed someone to sit on the bench tonight and that’s what Pau will do, say Sport on Friday.
Then Espanyol have no more fixtures before the transfer window, so Pau can leave. Indeed, because of the international break, Espanyol don’t play again until September 9th.
Pau is set to arrive initially on loan, with Tottenham having the right to make the move permanent for €7m. The 21 year old was called up to Spain’s full national squad for the first time earlier this year, so is clearly highly rated in his own country.
