Marcus Edwards and Pedro Porro are already aware of Tottenham Hotspur’s wish to sign them, according to reports from Portugal.
Newspaper A Bola writes on Wednesday that both Sporting players have been ‘informed’ that the interest ‘is real’ and that this possibility ‘exists’.
The outlet claims that the chance to feature in the Premier League pleases both Edwards and Porro, not only because of the competition itself, but also because any English club would offer them a big pay raise if compared to the Lions.
Tottenham, however, are still to place a bid for the duo. It’s said the talks between intermediaries and Sporting have been on for a while, but the interest was not made official yet.
That’s one of the reasons why the players are ‘committed’ to the team and shouldn’t make a big thing out of it.
To take the duo from Sporting, Tottenham must spend €75m.
That’s €45m for Porro’s release clause and €30m for Edwards, who has a €60m release clause, but Spurs would have a discount since they still own 50% of his rights.
