At the end of October, we carried a report from Het Nieuwsblad, who explained Watford were planning to send a scout to Belgium to keep an eye on Royal Antwerp’s Aurélio Buta.
The Belgium newspaper also suggested that Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on signing the right-back.
Today’s edition of Het Nieuwsblad once again talks about Wolves and the Hornets, while they also mention Southampton.
The report mainly focuses on Leicester City showing interest in the 22-year-old. The Foxes have identified the Portuguese defender as a potential candidate to replace Ricardo Pereira, if the latter leaves King Power Stadium in January.
Buta has enjoyed a ‘great season’ with the Jupiler Pro League side, managing one goal and five assists in 18 league appearances.
Het Nieuwsblad claims Buta’s performances have earned him ‘interest’ from the Premier League clubs, particularly from Watford, Wolves and the Saints.
Buta’s contract with Antwerp expires in 2021 and there isn’t anything concrete in the report to suggest if any of Watford, Wolves or Southampton will convert their interest into an offer for the fullback.
