Manchester United target Santiago Gimenez may have some news on his future soon.
According to ESPN Mexico, the player’s father is preparing a trip to the Netherlands, where he’ll speak to Feyenoord about his situation at the club.
The striker joined the Dutch side last summer, following a €4m move from Cruz Azul, but his great first season in the Eredivisie requires some attention already.
ESPN points out that Gimenez has recently been linked to the likes of Atletico Madrid, Benfica, Manchester United and Sevilla, and those rumours create big expectation about the next transfer window.
The Mexican outlet, however, claims that none of those clubs have got in touch with his representatives yet, and at this stage it’s more likely that he’ll stay at Feyenoord.
Featuring for the Dutch side this season, the striker has 20 goals and three assists in 41 matches, so it’s no surprise he’s already linked to other European clubs.
Earlier this month, it was claimed Manchester United have been sending scouts to follow the player and already made ‘first contact’ to get that signing done. It was even said he has a release clause of around €20m, which may be wishful thinking.
