Monday’s Italian newspapers didn’t have too much to offer in terms of updates on Patrick Dorgu to Manchester United.

Corriere dello Sport carry comments from Lecce president Saverio Sticchi Damiani, in which he said his club is putting up resistance.

The Italian newspaper then states there’ll be another offer from Manchester United in the coming days, and it will ‘come very close’ to Lecce’s €40m demand, although that all feels more like an assumption than anything else.

Corriere go on to say Dorgu hasn’t changed his mind and still wants the move to Old Trafford. Intriguingly, Lecce have reached an agreement to sign Danilo Veiga from Estrela da Amadora. The 22-year-old is primarily a right-back.

Dorgu played at left-back in a back four as Lecce lost 4-0 at home to Inter Milan on Sunday, but he sometimes plays on the right so the Veiga arrival could hold some relevance.

Corriere dello Sport rated Dorgu’s performance at 5/10.

More up to date are some snippets from SoloLecce, they were first to report a meeting between Manchester United and the Serie A side last week.

First up, they don’t appear very happy with Dorgu.

And that’s putting it mildly.

They state the 20-year-old’s performance against Inter Milan was ‘ridiculous’ and say he gave two assists to the Nerazzurri. They’re also unhappy about him supposedly liking a social media post from Joshua Zirkzee.

According to SoloLecce, Dorgu’s ‘entire family’ have been in Salento since Thursday, and it’s made clear that is not the norm for the player. The player’s parents are said to be pushing for the move which would be ‘life changing’ for their son.

Now everyone just has to wait for that Manchester United offer.
