Sevilla will face Azerbaijani side Neftçi PFK or Hungarian club Újpest in their two-legged Europa League qualifier in late July and early August. Therefore, the Spanish club’s players will return for the pre-season on July 3rd.
Clement Lenglet’s future at the club remains uncertain and he’s long been linked with a move to Barcelona. Mundo Deportivo claims the defender has not yet made a decision on whether to join the La Liga winners or continue at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
According to the information gathered by the Catalan newspaper from the player’s entourage, Lenglet will soon communicate his decision whether to wear the Blaugrana shirt or play at Sevilla next season.
The central defender will travel to Seville tomorrow to inform his employers. It’s stated everything points to an exit and Lenglet wants to inform Sevilla president Pepe Castro, director of football Joaquín Caparrós and their new coach, Pablo Machín personally.
Lenglet arrived in Spain from Ligue 1 side Nancy in January 2017. His progress with the Andalusian club has encouraged Barcelona to make an approach for his services.
The 23-year-old has a release clause of €35m in his Sevilla contract, and Nancy will pocket €3m if their former player completes a move to Barcelona.
