Tottenham Hotspur were among the first clubs to be credited with an interest in Nicolò Zaniolo ever since he decided to leave AS Roma in the winter market.
Last week, reports from Italy indicated the north London club wanted to sign the forward on loan with a conditional obligation. This didn’t please the Serie A side who are looking for a sale or loan with obligation to buy with no conditions attached.
Since then, AC Milan’s interest in the 23-year-old was discussed and then a surprise claim from Italy emerged today.
AFC Bournemouth have made an offer to sign the player this month and it is also stated by Gazzetta dello Sport. They add their €30m proposal has pleased José Mourinho’s side, but not the Italy international and his agent, Claudio Vigorelli.
The attacker is waiting for a club bigger than the Cherries and Spurs fit this description. It’s claimed his ‘dream is Tottenham’, with whom there have been contacts recently.
Milan have held talks with Roma chief Tiago Pinto and found out the operation for Zaniolo remains complicated. It needs to be seen whether Antonio Conte’s side will come forward to sign him in the coming days.
As we get closer to the deadline day, the player risks staying at Roma beyond the current window.
