Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in a South American who should leave Barcelona this summer, but… it’s not Messi.
We’re talking about Lucas de Vega, who just returned to the Catalan side following a loan spell at Cartagena last season.
Outlet La Verdad claims it’s ‘impossible’ for the Second Division side to keep the player for longer. Firstly, because his wages are rising this year, and secondly, because there’s now competition for him.
Besides Tottenham, it’s said that Sporting Gijón, Tenerife and Malaga are all interested in signing the 20-year-old midfielder.
For now, there’s not a lot of information on how the talks with Barcelona have been going, or how much José Mourinho’s side would pay for the transfer.
Lucas de Vega faced Tottenham in a UEFA Youth League match back in 2018, and perhaps club scouts have been keeping an eye on him since then.
