Real Valladolid forward Gonzalo Plata has asked the club’s directors to ‘facilitate his transfer’ to AFC Bournemouth this summer.
That’s according to ESPN, relayed by El Telegrafo, who say the player has been convinced on a move to Bournemouth ahead of one to Valencia.
According to their information the Cherries offer for the player ‘is higher’ than that of their Spanish counterparts at this moment in time and that has ‘convinced’ the Ecuadorian to make the move.
He’s made it a priority to continue in European football after being sounded out by América de México, who are capable of paying his €10m transfer fee.
However, the player feels he can continue to perform in more competitive leagues according to ESPN and so now wants to join Bournemouth in the Premier League.
His management also want to place him there to put him in the eyeline of ‘top teams’ and thus are working on a deal to get him out of Valladolid following their relegation from La Liga.
Bournemouth appear to be at the front of the queue of suitors at this moment in time as they continue to spend and bolster their squad for new manager Andoni Iraola.
