It will probably come as no surprise to West Ham United fans, but Nikola Vlasic doesn’t want to return to London.

The Croatian was bought from CSKA Moscow last summer by the Hammers, who were looking to add more creativity to their team, but the playmaker never managed to convince David Moyes.

Most of his appearances came from the bench, and it quickly became clear his future, despite €30m being spent on him, wasn’t at West Ham.

That’s why an exit plan was sought during the last transfer window, and Torino, managed by Ivan Juric, were happy to take him on.

They negotiated a €15m option to buy as part of the loan, which has been a success to date, to the point where we are already seeing many articles about him staying beyond the current season..

However, for that to happen, Torino will need to pay West Ham, and while there is a desire there, they also want to see if they can reduce the fee.

Tuttosport, relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb, look at the situation of the various loans at the Serie A side these days, with €35m potentially spent to keep all the players.

The biggest chunk of that would be Vlasic, described as an ‘immovable starter’, who has an ‘overt desire’ to stay, with ‘zero desire to return to a club that had marginalised him’.

Now, Torino just have to find those €15m somewhere.
