Lucas Andersen was one of the players Queens Park Rangers released at the end of last season. The Dane hasn’t managed to find a new club since leaving the Championship side.
On October 10th, Bold reported the 31-year-old has rejected offers from Saudi Arabia and Cyprus.
Last month, Andersen said he will have to accept the consequences of turning down offers since leaving QPR.
Having parted ways with QPR last summer, the wait to find a new club is ongoing. Campo in Denmark report the attacking midfielder has been training with AaB Fodbold.
He graduated from the Danish club’s academy and then had another spell at AaB between 2018 and 2024. Andersen terminated his contract with them to join QPR for free in February 2024.
Even though the player is training with his former club, the possibility of starting a new spell with them has been ruled out. This has been confirmed by AaB sporting director John Møller to Campo.
“I think that Lucas has kept going with us because he is an old AaB boy,” he said.
“We would like to give him the gesture that he can keep going and keep his form with us, and we have benefited from that because he is a skilled player who contributes well to the environment in everyday life.”
The director insists AaB won’t be able to sign him because the former QPR man dreams of joining a club outside Denmark.
“I also believe that Lucas has an ambition to come out and try his hand once more abroad. At least that’s my belief,” Møller explained.
Andersen played 51 matches for QPR.
