Fulham tried to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush in the recently concluded window, according to Bild.

The striker scored 17 goals and registered six assists from 41 matches last season and managed a goal and three assists from three matches this season.

It’s claimed Fulham wanted to ‘lure him to England with more money’, but the deal didn’t take shape. That’s because the 25-year-old ‘turned down’ Marco Silva’s side.

Towards the end of the transfer window, the Egypt international rejected an opportunity to join Nottingham Forest. The Reds aren’t the only ones as he also turned down Fulham. The frontman dreams of playing in the Premier League but only wants to join a top club.

“I am happy to continue to be in Frankfurt. I just feel very comfortable here. Actually, it was clear to me the whole time that I wanted to continue playing here. We’re like a family here,” he recently told Sky Deutschland, relayed by Bild.

Fulham finished the transfer window without adding a new striker to their squad. Marco Silva currently has Rodrigo Muniz, Raúl Jiménez and Carlos Vinícius as the three strikers at his disposal. The latter has been linked with a move back to Brazil.

Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche insists that the Egyptian can further improve his game.

“His development is strong. How calmly he scores the goal is an improvement over last year. And he still has a lot of development potential,” Krösche explained.
