With Everton standing very close to the signing of Youssef Chermiti from Sporting, the Portuguese media now shows that the Lions really don’t count on him anymore.
It had already been reported this week that the player wasn’t training with his teammates, as manager Ruben Amorim was unlikely to use him in the friendly against the Toffees at Goodison Park.
Now as Sporting’s squad took a flight to England for tomorrow’s match, Record reports that Chermiti was not in the squad, showing a video of players at the airport.
It’s claimed that Chermiti will be heading to Liverpool ‘in the next few days’, but that will be to have his medicals ahead of the Everton transfer.
The reports from Portuguese newspapers on Friday morning claimed that Lions and Toffees already have an agreement for the move, and it’s now the player who needs to accept the deal.
Chermiti reportedly turned down the first personal offer from Everton, demanding a much higher salary, and the negotiations continue.
Still, the forward is believed to have his bags packed, and it shouldn’t take long until all parties come to an agreement.
