Following the loan of Diego Llorente from Leeds United, AS Roma returned for a second player from Elland Road last summer.
That man was Rasmus Kristensen, who clearly didn’t fancy Championship football and was more than happy to head to Serie A for the season.
He has had a mixed campaign away from Leeds, and unlike the Spaniard, there is no option to buy in his deal, as recalled by Corriere dello Sport.
The problem is that if AS Roma wanted to make the move permanent, they would have to sit down with the Whites to hash out a new set of terms, but that won’t be happening.
That’s because the Dane ‘will return to Leeds’ at the end of the season, and it appears the Italians have no interest whatsoever in trying to keep him around.
This is a different stance to Llorente, as the centre-back has that €5m option to buy in his contract, which makes him a very enticing and easy deal to pull off.
This means Leeds will have to deal with Kristensen’s future this summer, which will likely be trying to re-include him in the squad if they make it back to the Premier League or find him a new club.
