Last summer, West Ham United’s Nikola Vlašić join Torino on loan with an option to buy at €13m.
The attacking midfielder is keen to continue with the Serie A side and has already informed Torino manager Ivan Jurić and technical director Davide Vagnati.
That’s according to Friday’s Tuttosport, who state the 25-year-old ‘will put pressure’ on West Ham to sanction his sale, also because he’s not included in the Hammers’ future plans.
The Turin club have a deadline until June 10th to exercise the purchase option. The problem for them to buy the Croatia international is the €13m fee, which is deemed too much, if his performances this season are taken into account.
Jurić’s side have an advantage that there are not many clubs lining up for the player. This would allow Vagnati to try to secure a deal for less than €13m.
The Italian club’s chief could start making ‘West Ham smell Torino’s willingness to buy’ Vlašić and solve a problem for them since he’s not in their plans. However, this would only be done for figures in line with the Italian market. Torino have made the ‘first assault’ for €8m.
Tuttosport state: ‘Now that we’re here, Vagnati hopes to finally break the shell of Londoners. And to lead them to new negotiations that are certainly complex, undoubtedly red-hot, but heralding the hopes of a possible agreement along the way. You ask for €13m, I offer €8m, you go down to €12m, I go up to €9m and so on.’
If West Ham continue to insist on €13m, then Vlašić won’t be at Torino next season.
