On Tuesday, reports coming out of Italy discussed the possibility of West Ham United’s Gianluca Scamacca returning to Serie A in the summer, a year after leaving Sassuolo for the English club.
Rai Sport first came out with a report stating Napoli have included the forward’s name on their wanted list, if Victor Osimhen were to leave the Naples club after this season.
Later that day, Calciomercato.it reported the 24-year-old isn’t convinced about continuing at West Ham beyond this season and the two parties could look for a divorce in the next window.
These reports surfaced just hours after the Italy international’s representatives confirmed they have unilaterally terminated the contract with Scamacca.
Calciomercato now claim the attacker is in the process of finding a new agent and once that’s done, he will also ‘evaluate his future’ at West Ham. As it stands, a farewell seems unlikely in the summer, unless David Moyes’ side receive an offer in excess of €45m.
AC Milan get a mention as they are searching the market for a new forward. They have ‘always liked’ Scamacca and had an opportunity to take him for €25m a few years ago.
If Milan want to sign the West Ham player in the summer, they will have to invest ‘almost €50m’ to bring him back to Italy.
