Jarrad Branthwaite ‘will definitely stay at Everton’ on deadline day and won’t be returning to PSV Eindhoven in any capacity.

That’s according to journalist Rik Elfrink, who says there is no possibility of that deal happening and the youngster will be remaining at Goodison Park.

Branthwaite spent a very successful season on loan with PSV last year, establishing himself as a first-team regular under Ruud van Nistelrooy across the campaign.

The Dutch side have been keen to have him back, particularly as Marcel Brands, the man who originally signed him for Everton, is director of football and a big fan of the player.

They’ve held various talks about getting the defender back, but Everton’s demands have been a sticking point, with it made clear they were far away from what PSV would want to pay.

The Eredivisie side could have extra funds to play with if Ibrahim Sangare joins Nottingham Forest, though, potentially opening up for another bid for Branthwaite.

That won’t be happening, though, with Elfrink reporting that the defender ‘will definitely stay’ at Everton this season and won’t be making a return to Eindhoven.

It seems they have been told there’s no possibility of a deal for the centre-back, who appears to now be a part of Sean Dyche’s plans after an impressive performance in the loss to Wolves.
