While the transfer window shuts on Tuesday, there are a few players who will be able to sign for clubs after that.

One of those is André Ayew, who is now a free agent, and is expected to return to England according to reports in France, with Nottingham Forest a possible destination for him.

That’s because of Steve Cooper, who has already worked with the Ghana international when the two were together at Swansea.

An earlier article from Foot Mercato in France stated Ayew had a few English clubs in the Premier League interested in him, but didn’t name anyone.

We now have one of their journalists, Santi Aouna, bringing Nottingham Forest into the fold on Twitter in a slight update on what they had reported previously.

He says Ayew ‘will arrive in England’ on Wednesday, and because of his free agent status, he can ‘sign for the club of his choice’.

This is when Cooper is mentioned, as it’s said the Nottingham Forest manager ‘appreciates his profile’, but it’s then stated that the former Marseille star ‘still hasn’t chosen his future club’.

It could therefore be up to his ex-coach to convince him about the move.
