This morning, a report from Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport claimed that Arsenal have been ‘trying everything’ to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina, making ‘‘mind-boggling’ offers to the Serie A side.

Now it turns out that when covering those strong claims, there are those in the Italian media who just don’t believe the Gunners would be capable of taking the striker from La Viola.

As Tutto Mercato Web writes about Vlahovic’s future, they say there are only two Premier League clubs who could sign the 21-year-old this year. Those are Chelsea and Manchester City.

It’s said Arsenal are seen as an ‘intermediate step’ in the player’s career, and that’s not what he wants now. His intention is to stay at Fiorentina until the end of the season and then check the options ‘that win titles and leads him to be one of the best in the world’.

Tutto Mercato Web points out that in the current scenario, there are four clubs who could land him in the summer. Those are Barcelona in Spain, Juventus in Italy, and in England, ‘he would only accept Chelsea and Manchester City’.

Despite Vlahovic’s preference for La Liga or Serie A, the report claims  ‘it’s impossible to say no to some Premier League teams’, which should be the case of Pep Guardiola’s and Thomas Tuchel’s sides.

This time it isn’t said how much it’ll take to sign the striker from Fiorentina, although his 18 goals this season should be a clear sign that the auction will be led by big figures.
