River Plate are keen on signing West Ham United’s Guido Rodríguez in the winter market.

That’s according to El Intransigente, and they say River Plate manager Marcelo Gallardo’s dream of signing the midfielder.

The Argentina international has lost prominence at West Ham and has been limited to 176 minutes from three matches this season. This includes only 19 minutes since Nuno Espírito Santo took charge on September 27th.

Earlier this month, Fussball Europa reported the 31-year-old is unhappy with his restricted role at West Ham.

El Intransigente now claim he would like to leave the Hammers in January. Rodríguez is aware he needs regular minutes to represent his country at the next World Cup.

River Plate would be willing to offer him playing time. Despite this, the operation remains complicated because they aren’t the only club looking at him.

On October 28th, TV Azteca stated Club América have identified him as a big target for the next window. El Intransigente now mentions the Mexican club along with Real Betis and Espanyol.

The West Ham player’s desire is to continue in Europe. River Plate are ‘persisting’ as their manager isn’t giving up on signing Rodríguez.

West Ham will have to make a decision after analysing offers they’ll receive for him.
