With his holidays now over, Gianluca Scamacca is going to return to West Ham United, where he hopes he won’t have to stay long.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who have the latest on the Italian striker’s situation, with AS Roma still interested in bringing him in on a loan with an option to buy.
They state the player is ‘ready’ to return to West Ham, but he also hopes to team up with José Mourinho in Italy’s capital ‘as soon as possible’.
Behind the scenes, the two clubs reportedly ‘continue to negotiate’, with the standoff the same as always, since the Hammers want an obligation to buy included in the loan, which the Italian are reluctant to do.
As always, there is hope the sale of Declan Rice could soften that stance, and they have the player’s desire to move on their side.
He has ‘held back any other negotiation’ in favour of a move to AS Roma, as he wants to return to the capital ‘where his mother lives, with whom he is very close’, as well as the rest of his family.
In short, Scamacca wants to leave, and the two sides are still at work to get something done.
