There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Hull City have stepped up their pursuit for Besiktas midfielder Amir Hadziahmetovic.
The Bosnian has been linked with the Championship side in recent days as Sergej Jakirovic looks to add to his midfield after already signing John Lundstram from Trabzonspor.
Ajansspor report on claims from Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoglu that Hull City owner Acun Ilicali has made an offer for the player. Due to the transfer ban, Ilicali is looking to loan the 28-year-old without a fee, as they did with Lundstram.
It’s also claimed Jakirovic has held a meeting with his compatriot and that the defensive midfielder would be interested in a move to England. The Hull City boss knows Hadziahmetovic following his brief spell in charge of Kayserispor.
Hadziahmetovic’s future in Istanbul is uncertain after he struggled to get games last season. He’s also yet to feature in the Super Lig in this campaign and could be looking to move on after the recent signing of Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City.
However, the issue could still be convincing Besiktas president Serdar Adali.
The player made just 13 appearances in all competitions last season and is contracted to the Black Eagles until June 2027.
