Fabio Paratici looked at the Italian market to strengthen Tottenham Hotspur’s squad as they have already completed deals for goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini and centre-back Cristian Romero.

Prior to finding an agreement with Atalanta for the Argentine’s transfer, Spurs showed interest in Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Romero’s arrival in the English capital has not stopped Nuno Espírito Santo’s side from chasing the 22-year-old. That’s what Calciomercato.it are reporting and they add the Japan international ‘wants Tottenham’.

It’s explained the negotiations between the north London club and Bologna ‘continue almost non-stop’.

The two sides reached an agreement for around €20m at the end of July, but there’s one more obstacle to overcome, if the deal has to take shape.

As per the report, this obstacle is ‘far from irrelevant’ and it’s with regards to the ‘terms of the payment’. The intermediaries involved in the operation are already at work to remove the ‘last obstacle’, with the hope of finding a resolution.

Tomiyasu, for his part, wants to move to the Premier League and Calciomercato.it explain he already has an ‘understanding with Spurs’.
