Napoli have joined Arsenal and a few other English clubs in chasing Celta Vigo star Gabri Veiga.
Wednesday’s Faro de Vigo states the Serie A side is willing to activate the midfielder’s €40m release clause at the end of this season.
The 20-year-old, on the other hand, is inclined to ‘fulfil the dream of signing for Arsenal’ as they attract him the most.
Arsenal are the Spain international’s ‘favourite’ team. His camp points out they value the Gunners’ commitment towards young talents and like their sporting project under Mikel Arteta.
In addition, the attractiveness of London will be another factor to take into account when the player has to make the most important decision in his career this summer.
Arsenal, for their part, have only shown interest in him and their leaders are waiting for the auction to take place.
Napoli have taken the lead but the Spaniard doesn’t seem enthusiastic about a move to Serie A as his ‘interest is currently focused on the English league’.
Despite drawing attention from other English clubs, Veiga prefers a move to London, so he’ll hope Arsenal interest develops.
Veiga has scored nine goals and registered three assists from 25 league games this season.
