Miguel Almirón’s likely departure from Atlanta United is undoubtedly one of the most commented rumours of the moment, especially because of the many English clubs who have been linked to him.
This Friday, South American outlet El Intransigente brings a story saying the player is now ‘closer’ to making a move to the Premier League.
The newspaper explains Almirón and his agents have listened to offers from Arsenal, Newcastle United, Tottenham and West Ham.
From these clubs, the most interested side would be Newcastle, who’ve recently sent an emissary to Atlanta to try to close a deal with the player.
El Intransigente claims that Almirón would like to play for either Newcastle or West Ham, where he would have more chances. It’s said that if he signs for Arsenal or Tottenham, it would be harder to get a place in the team.
Atlanta are said to be demanding at least US$30m (£23.5m) for Almiron. And as the MLS season is coming to an end, the player is about to make a decision ‘in the next few days’.
