Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard wants to return to Arsenal this summer after his successful loan spell last season.
The Norwegian midfielder returned to the Bernabeu after a loan spell with Arsenal in the second half of last season, looking to establish himself under new manager Carlo Ancelotti.
That is yet to happen, though, and Sport report that his recent poor display in the defeat to Rangers has led the Spanish giants to consider a sale once again.
According to the newspaper, his performance ‘exasperated’ those in charge so much so that he has gone from being a firm choice to a candidate for a loan or transfer to the Premier League.
There is a feeling that beyond the fact he didn’t play well, there was a ‘certain nonchalance’ and, more worryingly, that his style does not fit with what Real Madrid need.
If things do not change, then the player does not want to continue at the club, and he will seek a move away.
In that instance, his destination would once again be Arsenal after his loan spell with the club last season.
Odegaard believes that the Premier League, and in particular the Gunners, suit his style, and he has asked his entourage and the club to negotiate a deal.
