Ryan Naderi wants to take advantage of a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity and join Rangers. That’s reported by the regional TAG24 in Germany.
The source, who make it clear it’s their own information, explain the Hansa Rostock player is keen on the move. That’s partly because he’ll see a big salary increase with a transfer to Rangers, but also because he can fight for the Scottish Premiership title with Danny Röhl’s side.
Rangers are currently second, four points behind Hearts and a couple of points ahead of Celtic. Another attraction for the 22-year-old is the opportunity to play in a UEFA European competition next season.
Hansa Rostock are currently fourth in Germany’s third division, so the jump would be huge in every way. However, the German club are going for promotion, and that’s one reason they haven’t rushed into accepting €3m from Rangers.
German reports have suggested Rangers could improve on that €3m offer to Hansa Rostock.
TAG24 report Hansa sporting director Amir Shapourzadeh is blocking the transfer for now. It’s stated the €3m was the initial asking price, so if that was an agreement it has been reneged upon.
Should Naderi not be allowed to take advantage of the opportunity presented to him then trouble has been predicted. The source states further blocking could lead to a ‘conflict’ situation.
Reading between the lines, Shapourzadeh may believe that if Rangers can offer €3m then they can offer a little more. Should he win that little battle, then it will obviously help his reputation and career prospects.
Rangers, meanwhile, are probably best leaving it to the player to pressure his club for a day or so.
