Southampton defender Jan Bednarek is attracting attention from one of the top Serie A sides, according to claims from Poland.

The 26-year-old joined the Saints from Lech Poznań in 2017 and after spending five years in the Premier League, is looking for a new opportunity elsewhere.

That’s what Meczyki are reporting and they  add the centre-back ‘wants to leave’ the English club this summer. Bednarek could make a switch to Serie A where an unnamed Italian club have been monitoring his situation him for several weeks.

Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side, down their end, are open to letting the Poland international leave St Mary’s Stadium.

In fact, they are ‘getting ready’ to part ways with the player in the ongoing window, after having already completed a deal for Armel Bella-Kotchap. It’s said the English club have ‘already set’ a price tag of €15m for Bednarek.

Three weeks ago, Meczyki reported AS Roma were interested in the Pole. The unnamed Serie A club mentioned in the website’s latest report could be José Mourinho’s side, since they have already showed interest in Bednarek.
