Brentford winger Mikkel Damsgaard is drawing interest from Sporting, according to claims from Portugal.
Newspaper O Jogo today highlights that the 23-year-old is rated highly by the Lions’ board, who are keen on his signing this summer.
It’s said Damsgaard wants to leave Brentford to play more, and is aware that there are clubs who are offering him more minutes on the pitch.
Sporting are currently learning the conditions, and their intention is to sign him on a loan deal.
According to O Jogo, something that would make it easier for the Lions is that Damsgaard has his career managed by the same agency as Morten Hjulmand, who was also signed by the Lisbon side this summer.
Now it remains to be seen whether Sporting will manage to find a deal with Brentford, or if they’ll look for other options.
Right now, Damsgaard looks like their priority for the final days of the window but they do have other options they’re considering.
The next few days will, obviously, be key.
