Following the strong reports from Brazil claiming West Ham United are about to sign Fabricio Bruno from Flamengo, we now get to see some fresh claims on the outcome of this deal.
Globo features a story claiming that the centre-back is being sold for more than the Rio de Janeiro side expected.
It’s said that due to his position and age, Flamengo expected to sell him for €12m. Now West Ham are buying the 28-year-old for €15m.
Initial reports from Brazil claimed that Fabricio Bruno would play two more games, against Amazonas on Wednesday night and Millionarios next Tuesday, and then make the move to London.
The centre-back was indeed a starter in this first match, but according to Globo Esporte, there’s now an internal debate at Flamengo whether he should play next week.
Flamengo are said to be worried about the defender getting injured. The player, however, would like to play a farewell game at the Maracanã.
Globo Esporte also talk about Fabricio Bruno’s importance to the team, claiming he has a ‘leadership’ appreciated at the club, but there was ‘nothing they could do’ following such an ‘aggressive effort’ from West Ham.
